Project Requirements
Develop a solid understanding of the client's business requirements, past assessments, existing architecture and future strategy. Conduct an assessment of the current intranet environment to produce the Strategic Roadmap to enhance collaboration and productivity for key business areas, such as: Commercial Operations, HR, Sales, Manufacturing, and R&D.
Design Thinking Workshops
Conducted 2 virtual workshops using Mural with an audience of 20 globally.
Develop strategic road map and prioritized feature inventory.
Discussed current state issues, successes, visions for the future, and prioritized ideal content.
Created 3 concept posters for the desktop view of the potential solution.
Design & Deliverables Process
-
Organized and Analyzed survey data collected
-
Conducted 10 persona interviews via Skype with clients across various countries and time zones.
-
Outlined four personas and key users, defining their user journeys, frustrations, and goals for each individual role.
-
Facilitate 2 workshops around current state issues and a vision for the future

The Outcome
Creating clickable prototypes in InVision, allowed stakeholders as well as the Technical Lead to fully understand and critique all functionality and the user's intended flow throughout the solution. The initial project started as a proof of concept to see what value SharePoint could provide the business. Ultimately the POC was sold and development began.

Learnings & Challenges
-
Design Thinking workshops were a very effective way to establish requirements, priorities, and alignment across the business when stakeholders are located globally.
-
Think ahead about how you want to organize interview materials. We had a lot of input between surveys and interviews and using Mural to organize those inputs in movable sticky notes was valuable to the needs of the project.
