Project Requirements

Create a POC e-commerce site using Microsoft Dynamics 365 for a single site to pilot a program where customers can make grocery orders and pick up at a convenient location without contact utilizing food and supplies from restaurant suppliers that would otherwise go to waste due to decreased demand.

Design & Deliverables Process​

• Conducted research for products that could be sold in meal kits from restaurant suppliers to reduce stock waste during COVID. 

• Developed a POC to assess the demand of local areas.

• Out-of-the-box Dynamics 365 eCommerce solution

• Created opportunity for customers to register online, shop for meal kits and check out with contactless payments

• Applied custom front end with the company's established branding

• Developed a POC for a single grocery pick-up site in the UK which was later expanded to several additional locations globally.

The Outcome

The initial project scope was for one area, which had to quickly scale to a total of 3 areas in the UK to adopt the program.

Learnings & Challenges

1. The timing was a challenge for this project as we were trying to create a solution in response to the COVID-19 pandemic without knowing how long the lockdown would last. 

2. Keeping the design of the site simple utilizing out-of-the-box components with a custom front end, allowed us to create a unique user experience while developing a solution quickly.
